From the east of Indonesia, precisely in the province of East Nusa Tenggara, there is a village called Labuan Bajo. Labuan Bajo is one of 9 villages located in Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara.

 According to history, Labuan comes from the word "labuhan" which is a village that is used as a berth for people who come from Bajo and Bugis, South Sulawesi. Finally, this village was then called Labuan Bajo.


 With its exoticism, Labuan Bajo has become a tourist destination that is even famous to foreign countries. As a tourist destination, Labuan Bajo later became the capital of the East Manggarai Regency with transportation facilities for docks, ports, and even airports.  Labuan Bajo is one of 9 villages and sub-districts located in Komodo District, West Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province. Labuan Bajo is at the westernmost tip of the island of Flores.


 The Labuan Bajo area includes: Kampung Ujung, Kampung Tengah, Kampung Air, Lamtoro, Wae Kelambu, Wae Medu, Cowang Dereng, Wae Kesambi, Wae Bo, Lancang, Sernaru, Wae Mata, Pasar Baru, Pede, and Gorontalo.

 Labuan Bajo has many tourist attractions. It can be said that almost every meter of the area has its beauty and uniqueness. Imagine, Labuan Bajo is indeed a small island that connects all the beauty from the beach, sea, hills, and meadows. There is even a unique village with the preservation of its customs that are still maintained today.

Famous tourist objects include Komodo Island, Pink Beach, Manta Point, small islands such as Kanawa, burrows, waterfalls, and even caves in Labuan Bajo. The most famous of them all is Komodo Island. Komodo Island is so-called because of the presence of Komodo dragons.

This animal is the only one who survived after a long time ago the eruption of Mount Krakatoa which caused a tsunami. With its legendary existence, this animal is one of the preserved animals. Likewise, Komodo Island became a National Park which was accepted as a category of world heritage site by the United Nations agency, namely UNESCO.


 Besides Komodo Island, which is also famous are Pink Beach and Manta Point. Pink beach is a beach with pink sand that is attractive and has a unique view, while Manta Point is a statue located at the bottom of one of the beaches in Labuan Bajo which is one of the unique diving spots.
